Our Music Programs
St. John’s music program offers a variety of opportunities to participate in our worship services. We encourage singers and instrumentalists of all levels, regardless of experience, to share their musical talents with the congregation. Our choirs rehearse and perform from September through Father’s Day.
The Chancel Choir is an adult choir that sings weekly at the Traditional Service. Members not only enjoy singing many different styles of music, but the fellowship rehearsals provide. The Chancel Choir rehearses Wednesdays from 8:00-9:15 P.M. If you like to sing, consider joining the Chancel Choir. No experience necessary!
St. John’s Praise Team provides music each week for the Contemporary Service. If you enjoy Praise and Worship songs, this is the choir for you. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
The Youth Choir sings monthly and for festival Sundays at the Traditional service. Its members include students from fifth grade through high school. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings immediately following Sunday School.
All Sunday School children are invited and encouraged to sing in the Children’s Choir. This choir sings monthly and for Festival Services throughout the year. In December, the Children’s Choir presents a Christmas pageant.
The Handbell Choir is for adults who enjoy music and are able to read music. The Handbell Choir rehearses Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 P.M., and performs throughout the year at the Traditional and Contemporary services.
Our Youth Handchime Choir is for students in fourth grade through high school. Some ability to read music is helpful. Rehearsals are at the discretion of the director.
Do you play an instrument?
Please consider sharing your musical talent with us. Instrumental solos, duets, and ensembles enhance our weekly worship services. Being a part of St. John’s musical program is a rewarding experience for participants, and a source of inspiration for our congregation.
