Season 52 opens the highly anticipated return of superstar pianist, recording artist, and Lansdale native, Claire Huangci to perform Tchaikovsky’s passionately sublime Piano Concerto No. 1. Brahms’ hauntingly tender Third Symphony begins the concert.

ELGAR’s Enigma

After the serenity of Vaughan Williams’ reflective and glorious Fifth Symphony, hear one of the most shimmering works in all of music in Elgar’s Enigma Variations where the composer creates heartwarming and heartbreaking tributes to those he knew and loved.

Mozart By Candlelight

Experience the music of Mozart in a whole new way – completely by candlelight. This unique concert includes the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro and Mozart’s final symphony – Jupiter Symphony.  World-renowned Clarinetist and Principal Clarinet of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Ricardo Morales performs Mozart’s prolific Clarinet Concerto.

The Orchestra

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1972 to provide performances of the highest artistic caliber to entertain, educate enrich, and expand the cultural lives of the residents of the area. 

SPSO returns to close to the heart of Lansdale and all performances are at our new performance venue Calvary Baptist Church located at 1380 S. Valley Forge Road in Lansdale, PA.

Nationally known conductor Allan R Scott has served as the SPSO Music Director since the 2002–2003 season. Founding Music Director Leonard Murphy had shaped the orchestra, originally known as the North Penn Symphony, into a cultural fixture of the North Penn region. Maestro Scott has used his artistic vision to bring the ensemble to its current professional level. Recognized for his innovative programming with the Helena Symphony Orchestra in Montana, he has vastly expanded the orchestra’s level of performance, repertoire and outreach.
